AAR Insurance History;

When AAR started operating in East Africa in 1984, our primary business was evacuation of medical and accident casualties, both by road and air. As our policyholder base increased, so did the needs of our clients, creating more opportunities to comprehensively provide healthcare packages for them. Our flexibility, innovation and readiness to respond to their needs made us the leading healthcare company in East Africa. This response to emerging market opportunities therefore led us to evolve into two independent companies: AAR Healthcare (T) Ltd which provides quality and affordable medical services through its clinic network and AAR Insurance Tanzania Limited.

AAR Insurance Tanzania Limited was licensed under the Insurance Act on 27 September 2007 to sell medical insurance policies in Tanzania. Prior to the launch of AAR Insurance, AAR had relied on other insurers, who were also competitors, to carry its health insurance risks.

AAR Insurance Tanzania Limited is one of biggest Insurance Companies in the market and is in the top 5 insurance companies with more than 54% market share of medical insurance business and continues to grow.

We offer a wide range of medical and non-medical insurance products underwritten at affordable prices and underpinned by strong and robust administration systems and processes.

The company has offices in Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Mwanza and its eyes set in other centres as part of its ambitious expansion programme.

Our 24 hour Helpline and Call Centre, set up to assist our customers around the clock is manned by well trained professionals. Besides the Helpline, we also operate a 24 hour Emergency line linked to our emergency rescue and evacuation services.
