Health Links Initiative (HLI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improve health systems in Tanzania, registered in September 2011 under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act, 2002. HLI vision is “Better quality assurance practices in public health laboratory and medicine in Tanzania”. Our strategic priority is to improve quality of health care service delivery in the country. Its main strength is depth of skills and knowledge of its members in building and managing health related quality assurance and to support HIV care and treatment. HLI brings together a team with vast experience in managing delivery of Quality health care at various levels in Tanzania. With the pool of skills, HLI has expanded its scope to support quality assurance in health laboratories at health facility level and testing points through implementing HIV Rapid Test Quality Improvement Initiative (RTQII) in Tanzania and project ECHO (Extension of Community Healthcare Outcomes) which is a training/mentoring collaborative model (teleECHO) of medical education and management empowering clinicians in resource challenged setting to provide better care to more people, right where they live.
HLI works with closely with Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MOHCDGEC), President’s office-Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG), and other key stakeholders.
We have successfully won and are executed a number of donor-funded projects including Global Fund research grant through National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) and the European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) as well as US Centers for Disease Control.
