VSO International Tanzania – VSO Tanzania; VSO work in Tanzania to improve education, health & livelihoods of local people & communities. Since Independence in 1961, VSO has been bringing people together to fight poverty in Tanzania.
We’re motivated by impact. Recent independent evaluations of our projects have shown maternal and neonatal deaths reduced by up to 30%, school literacy and numeracy results improved by almost a third compared to control schools, and farmer incomes boosted four-fold through our support.
Huge challenges remain. Tanzania needs an educated workforce to reach its potential, but has the second lowest secondary school completion rates in East Africa. Malnutrition means 50% of children have stunted growth.
Our projects are making real progress, and I’m excited to see what we will achieve in a time of national growth of industry and opportunity.
