The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a S year global project funded by the US. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the US.Agency for International Development (USAID), dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control. The project provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to break through barriers to 95-95-95 and promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, prevention, and treatment programming. In Tanzania, EpiC will be implementing an HIV service delivery project among key and priority populations, adolescent girls and young women; and orphans and vulnerable children which aims to reduce HIV infections in pursuit of reaching 95-95-95 goals. To achieve this goal, the program will support targeted prevention and case finding strategies at community level amongst the targeted populations.
Position: Data Management Officer -Dar es Salaam (1 position)
Main Function:Responsible for the management and maintenance of project databases and data management-related functions.Providing technical support in database management to EpiC and other staff and ensure the data management needs of the project are being met
Specific Responsibilities: Managing project databases and perform data entryOrganizing data systems and flow to ensure that data k properly channeled from partners, health facilities and regional offices up to head office level and entered into appropriate database systems-Coordinate collection of all EpiC PEPFAR and other dataB Participating in data quality audits. Supporting capacity development of Tanzanian civil society organizations (CSO) partners for data management. Providing technical support to health management information systems (HMIS) • Ensurin use of tools and a functional system exist for purposes of collecting, analysis and synthesis of monitoring data. Offering technical assistance to CSO partners in designing and implementing data collection tools; Developing statistical reportsB Contributing to weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually reporting both to EpiC headquarters and USAID.
Position Requirements- Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Master’s Degree in biostatistics, computer science, public health, informatics or related field with I to 3 years of relevant experience in data management and analysis; or Bachelor’s Degree with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in data management and analysis. Computer proficiency in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, including advanced skills in at least two of the following programs: SPSS, Excel, Epi Info,Stata, and MsAcces. Experience in HMIS, setting up databases, data analysis and presenting statistical reports. Understanding of how to maintain data security and data quality systems. Working knowledge of USAID/PEPFAR data requirements. Good planning and organizational skills. Experience in programs serving KVP and AGYW. Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and sound understanding of the needs of KVPs. Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high volumes of work with minimal supervision. High degree of proficiency in written and spoken English communication.
