ActionAid started its operation in Tanzania in 1998. ActionAid Tanzania (AATZ) envisions seeing Tanzania without poverty, injustice and inequality in which every person enjoys sustainable development and a right to a life of dignity. Currently, AATZ is looking for a qualified, experienced and self-moti­vated person to fill in the following posts:

 

Position Title: Inspirator on Decent Work and Economic Opportunities Unguja Local Rights Program

Roles:

• Influence budget increase for youth economic empowerment and decent employment policies and strategies in place at local and national level
• Strengthen capacities of the Local Rights Programs and partners staff on decent work and economic opportunities and its linkages to related policies.

Roles:

• Enhance meaningful participation of young men and women in decision making processes through mobilization and engagement in the existing government structures, and governance processes.

Required skills & core competences:

• Knowledge on youth development issues and youth development policy of the country

Personal qualifications:

• First degree/Advanced Diploma in Sociology, Social Work or Development Studies with two years’ experience in youth development related fields including economic opportunities and policy works

 

Duty Station: Unguja
