Project Overview: DFID-Improving Market Systems for Agriculture in Rwanda is a 4-year market system programme designed to improve the way agriculture market systems function, making them more effective, participatory and more competitive leading to an increase in income to households in the targeted agriculture markets.
- Scope of Work: From time to time, IMSAR seeks the services of professional graphic designers and infographic specialists to work with the team on a range of publications – from technical/research reports, case studies and client reporting documents, to shorter, sharper and targeted communications products, including infographics. These often require highly developed graphic design skills to be able to capture the essence of complicated messages and translate them into clear, appealing and elegant designs. IMSAR draws on support for these ad hoc services from a pre-selected panel of graphic designers. Responsibilities: Selected service providers will be offered a standing offer arrangement (draw down agreement), under which specific work orders will be issued for any contracted work. The specific scope of each contracted piece of work will be issued via a work order. A generic summary of required services is as follows: – Design and layout annual reports, formal publications such as case studies or technical research and ensure that key messages come across clearly and in an interesting way, including through the use of infographics – Using input from the team, translate communications messages into infographics or other graphic products in a professional, appealing and timely manner – Ensure that designs adhere to IMSAR’s brand guidelines and that all input is added to documents correctly with a commitment to attention to detail – Provide input on photography, select stock photos where necessary and be able to manipulate photographs, add sketches too them or build different styles and layers – Provide genuine and well-thought out ideas for complex issues across a range of audiences and countries.
Required Qualifications:
Requirements: Professional qualifications in graphic design Previous relevant experience, preferably within international development Demonstrated graphic design experience on large projects with multiple inputs Understanding of and experience in photography Meticulous attention to detail Ability to produce high quality outputs, while juggling multiple inputs and working to a deadline Strong organisational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and work as part of a collaborative team
