The company now seeks the services of highly motivated, qualified, and experienced individuals for its new Gypsum plant. Applications are invited for multiple positions as shown below.
Reaction Tank & Boiler operator (4)
Making of slurry at a required percentage in solids, monitor the feed to the reaction tanks and physically monitor process parameters such as PH in the reaction tanks using standard process equipment. Reports to Process Controller.
Mobile Plant Operators (4)
Operating mobile equipment like Front loader, Forklift, and crane. Must already possess license for any one or more of these. Reports to process Controller.
Press Filter Operators (4)
Separation of liquid from solid from a slurry to produce a relatively dry cake and a clear solution. Must be able to open the plates and discharge the cake. Must clean the plates with high pressure washer machine. Reports to Process Controller
Press Filter Attendants (4)
Supporting the Filter Operators in the Separation of liquid from solid from a slurry to produce a relatively dry cake and a clear solution. Must be able to open the plates and discharge the cake. Must clean the plates with high pressure washer machine.
Pump Attendants (4)
In charge of all fluid flows in the plant, including oleum, acid and slurry pumps and connections. Will be trained in working in a hazardous (acid) environment, but prior experience will be beneficial. Coordinates with the various operators of plant (Reaction Tank, Boiler, Filter Press and Traffic Controllers) to offload and load fluid tanks as and when they are required. Must be familiar with pumps and their behaviors. Conducts first level inspections to alert the maintenance team of any items of plant which may need detailed/technician inspection, repair or service. Reports to Process Controller in Production Department.
Traffic Controllers (2)
In charge of receiving, directing, and controlling motorized traffic into and out of the plant ensuring that they make deliveries and/or collect products from the plant in a safe manner. Reports to Process Controller in Production Department.
Fitters (2)
In charge of all fitting work for Production and/or maintenance purposes. Must be a qualified and experienced plant fitter. Reports to engineer in Maintenance Department.
Mill Operators (4)
In charge of Producing milled limestone from coarse feed using a Vertical Roller Mill (VRM). Familiarity with the VRM operations will be an added advantage. Knowledge of comminution processes (size reduction) using crushers, dry ball mills or VRMs is essential. Reports to Process Controller in Production Department.
Weighbridge Operators (3)
In charge of operating the weighbridge system, dispatching of outgoing products, weighing of delivery vehicles and receipting incoming products. Reports to Finance Administrator
Electrical & Instrumentation Technician (1)
In charge of E&I availability and reliability in the plant. Must be able to read and interpret E&I diagrams and translate these into real-time, real-world troubleshooting on the plant. Will also be involved in wiring for the upgrade of plant from critical process sensors to full automation and so must be familiar with sensor-PLC-actuator process control systems. Reports to engineer in Maintenance Department.
Process Controllers (4)
In charge of Unit Plant Operators (Milling, Tank Farm, Reactors, Filter Press) as well as the Production Service Providers (Traffic Controllers, Mobile Plant Operators and Pump Attendants), to ensure that gypsum of the right purity is produced consistently at the most optimal throughputs set with Plant Management. Will interact closely with Maintenance team to ensure that equipment utilization is optimized always. Combines technical understanding of the manufacturing process with solid supervisory skills. Reports to Plant Manager.
Lab Technician (2)
Support the routine and non-routine operations of the Kemcore gypsum plant by conducting sampling and analysis of raw materials, in-process and finished products, logging the test results, labeling, and storing samples and managing stock of laboratory chemicals in a manner that is safe to the health of all employees and the environment. Reports to Plant Manager.
Qualifications, Minimum Skills, and Experience required;
- Grade 12 school certificate
- At least 3 years’ experience in desired field
- Fully qualified in the desired field with necessary technical certification
- Certificate/Diploma/Degree holder in a desired field will be an added advantage.
- Membership to the respective professional body will be an added.
