Founded in 1871, The University of Winnipeg is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized city of Winnipeg (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Manitoba. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Department of Education and Training, Manitoba, The University of Winnipeg (UofW) is a medium-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 9,000-9,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Winnipeg (UofW) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study.

 

DOMESTIC FULL-TIME PROGRAM APPLICANTS

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Be a high school graduate or hold a Mature Status Diploma.
    • MUST provide High School Transcript or recognized equivalent GED or Mature Grade 12 Diploma.

OR

  • Be 18 years of age or older and have completed 90 hours of coursework or more at a recognized post-secondary institution (including UWinnipeg PACE) with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
    • MUST provide an official transcript for all previous post-secondary study (including university, CEGEP, or private college).

PROGRAMS WITH ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Finance Management Diploma

  • Applicants must have Mathematics 40S (Pre-Calculus, Applied, or Essential/Consumer)
  • A minimum of one year of professional work experience.

Human Resource Management Diploma

  • Applicants who do not possess a degree must have a minimum of three years of work experience
  • Applicants that do possess a degree must have one year of work experience

Marketing Management Diploma

  • Applicants must have one year of work experience

Network Security Diploma

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

1. High School, with minimum 1 credit in an IT-related course
or
2. Completion of IT professional designations
or
3. Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in IT
or
4. One of the following:
i. Principles of Mathematics 12 (67%)
     or
ii. Applications of Mathematics 12 (73%)
     or
iii. Pre-Calculus 12 (67%)

Project Management Diploma

  • Applicants who do not possess a degree must have a minimum of three years of work experience
  • Applicants that do possess a degree must have one year of work experience

Supply Chain Management Diploma

  • Applicants who do not possess a degree must have a minimum of three years of work experience
  • Applicants that do possess a degree must have one year of work experience

Web Development Diploma

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

1. High School, with minimum 1 credit in an IT-related course
or
2. Completion of IT professional designations
or
3. Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in IT
or
4. One of the following:
i. Principles of Mathematics 12 (67%)
     or
ii. Applications of Mathematics 12 (73%)
     or
iii. Pre-Calculus 12 (67%)

Others will be evaluated at the discretion of the admissions team.

The University may request a Letter of Intent and Reference Letters.


ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT

Applicants whose previous education was completed outside of Canada and where English may or may not have been the medium of instruction, must submit proof of meeting ONE of the accepted English language proficiency measures. Students applying to The University of Winnipeg PACE during the COVID-19 crisis, may use the following online testing options to meet their Enligh language requirements for applications to our August/September 2020 and January 2021 programs:

  • Duolingo English Test with a minimum score of 115
  • IELTS Indicator with a minimum overall academic band score of 6.5 and a minimum score of 6.0 for the writing and reading categories*.
  • TOEFL iBT “Special Home Edition Test” with a minimum score of 86 with no less than 19 in each component (internet-based)*.

PART-TIME PROGRAM APPLICANTS

International Applicants are only eligible for online programs within our part-time studies offerings at PACE. Please refer to the Part Time Program Admissions section on our detailed Admission Requirements for international students.

  • ECE II- Early Childhood Educator Level II must be provided with application.
