Position Title: Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

Reporting to: Director

Supervises: Accounting and Finance Team

Salary: TZS 13,000,000.00

Duty station: Head Office, Arusha (Dar-es-Salaam in the interim)

 

Position Summary:

As a key member of the Executive Management, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the Executive Director and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing.

 

CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Monitoring & controlling of entire accounting function as per accounting
  • Monitoring & overseeing secretarial & legal functions and FEM. Secretarial functions includes TRA compliance, Minutes of Board Meeting, Filling related to TRA. Legal function includes reviewing legal agreements, MOU, vendor contracts etc.
  • Manage bank accounts and bank relationships and compliance.
  • Represent the Company with Investment bankers and
  • Preparation of CMA (Credit Monitoring Analysis) data and projected financial Statements as and when
  • Dealing & Liaising with the Bank/Finance Institutions for the existing credit facilities, further credit facilities for the future expansions of the group. Evaluate financing options and select the most appropriate one for the company’s needs.
  • Prepare and present Budgets to the
  • Formulate and monitor and ensure compliance of the budget.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective
  • Lead the budgeting and planning process including long term strategic plans and annual operating
  • Preparing & monitoring Cash
  • Execute monthly/periodic audits (internal, statutory, TAX & GST) and give directive to
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place
  • Ensure timely compliance of payments and returns of all statutory requirements like VAT, SDL, PAYE, NSSF, TAX RETURNS etc.
  • Prepare requirements for assessments and other related matters with the various authorities like Income Tax, Sales Tax, Service Tax, TRA & other authorities.
  • To review & analysis of existing system and implementation of further improvements. Participate technology up gradation in the organization & process for the coordination between internal & external
  • Handle the administrative and human resource needs of the company including payroll, and benefits functions-with an eye to continuously developing and improving systems, checking and reviewing of monthly payroll related compliance.
  • Financial planning for projects and utilization of
  • MIS reporting & review.
  • Responsible for Treasure
  • Effectively train, support and provide leadership to the lodge finance teams; hold weekly meetings to manage performance & mentor staff effectively; achieve optimum staff performance
  • Provide guidance & on job (system, SOP, report, software) training to the lodge finance teams in relation to the front office, materials control & back office; carry out necessary formal training(s)
  • Develop lodge finance teams in a collaborative manner through effective communication, continuous learning & system optimization initiatives; delegate authority to utilise available skill set strength(s)
  • Evaluate performance of staff in order to acknowledge efficient employees & guide underperforming employees; identify relevant staff who require training & implement necessary training accordingly
  • Provide feedback to staff who are persistently underperforming; ensure that HR is kept well informed of staff performance challenges.
  • Provide support by regularly visiting group locations to mentor & supervise financial operations staff

 

Prerequisites:

 

  • CPA and ACCA (Chartered Accountant)

  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions and investor relations
  • Executive experience with software as a service business models and their associated revenue recognition

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance and MBA

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum of ten years plus in progressively responsible financial leadership roles preferable in Hospitality Industry. Previous experience working with an ERP system.
