Established in 1895, Africa Inland Mission is a Christian mission sending agency focused on Africa. Their stated mission is to see “Christ-centered churches established among all African peoples.” AIM established the Kapsowar Hospital in 1933.
Africa Inland Church Tanzania, was born at Nassa village, Mwanza in 1909. Earlier in 1887 missionaries from Church Missionary Society(CMS) had arrived at Nassa Village to open a church. For more than twenty years CMA missionaries had served in the Lake zone of Tanzania (than Tanganyika) opening churches.
For some reasons they decided to move to Uganda but they did not want to desert the young congregation. They looked for someone to carry on the work from where they had reached.
Africa Inland Mission (AIM) was already working in Kenya so CMS asked AIM if it could send a missionary to Tanzania. On June 29 1909 Rew. Emil Sywulka and his wife Marie Sywulka were received by CMS missionaries at Nassa to take over the ministry.
